Here are some more pictures I altered, though not tonight. These are from some of my trips to Caspar Beach and Mendocino.

I took a day trip to the ocean last week. I just needed to get out of the house and do something. I’ve been very depressed lately and as hard as I try to fight it, I cannot deny that it is there. The most obvious sign of it is my inability to write. I can journal some, but since focusing is hard as well, even that does not last long. Stories fizzle quickly as I simply can’t decide what happens next. Even when I work on established stories that I know the plot of freeze up because I can’t figure out how to get there.

April has become my try to get back on track month. I am taking day trips to be stimulated by something other than the TV. Also I am participating in both Script Frenzy and National Poetry Month. I don’t have a complete idea for a script since I decided last minute, so it isn’t going as well, but Poetry Month I am having better success with. Every day I write at least one haiku or poem a day, sometimes more. I post one of these each day to my Twitter account. At least I feel like I am doing some writing.

I think I am going to the mountains tomorrow. I was at sea level last week, going the opposite direction this week. Potato Patch is a beautiful campground not too far away, though I may even go farther, like Elam or even the town of Chester. I’m not really concerned with the where as long as it is beautiful and interesting and I can take pictures and perhaps even sit and write while there.

Hopefully all this means that soon this blog will have more interesting entries again. My mom’s death has really stalled me, just as my Dad’s did four years ago, and I am hoping it doesn’t take as long to get myself together this time.

I was crochet crazy last night (yes, that is possible—don’t laugh).  I finished a purple slightly slouchy beanie, designed and made two thread crochet stocking ornaments, and crocheted a necklace on a clam shell (it’s the only thing pictured).  It is cotton thread crocheted around a clam shell I found on Caspar Beach earlier this year.  I picked up several and had been wanting to do it for awhile, but it wasn’t until I became crochet obsessed last night that I got to it.  I like it lots and want to do more.  I finally feel like I have accomplished something after a month of grieving.  Now if only the writing would get moving.
